Boca Raton Bowl Honors A.D. Henderson Educator During Extra Yard for Teachers Week
As part of the College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers Week, the Boca Raton Bowl proudly surprised a deserving local teacher with a special recognition and gift of support for her classroom.
Boca Raton Bowl staff joined students and administrators on the campus of Florida Atlantic University on Friday, September 19, to honor Lindsey Wuest, M.Ed., a Science through Art Specialist and STEM Teaching Fellow at A.D. Henderson University School. Wuest, who has been a champion of integrating the arts with science, social-emotional learning, and community engagement, was celebrated for her innovative teaching and positive impact on students.
During the surprise, Boca Raton Bowl Executive Director Doug Mosley unveiled an $1,000 Extra Yard for Teachers grant check to support Wuest’s classroom initiatives. She was also surprised with a gift certificate from local cookie shop, Just Baked Boca, which additionally donated cookies for the entire class to enjoy during the celebration.
Following the presentation, Mosley introduced the program, followed by remarks from Principal Dr. Robinson and heartfelt words from Ms. Wuest. Students, teachers, and Bowl staff then joined together for photos and plenty of smiles as the class celebrated their teacher’s well-deserved recognition.
Wuest will also be recognized on the field during the December 23 Boca Raton Bowl game as teachers across Palm Beach County will be celebrated for their tireless efforts in and out of the classroom.
