Head Coaches Press Conference

The Head Coaches Press Conference will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 5:00 p.m. at AV Rental Depot and will feature SMU head coach Sonny Dykes, FAU interim head coach Glenn Spencer, Cheribundi CEO Mike Hagan, and Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Executive Director Doug Mosley.

Fan Fest and Family Midway

Game day interactive area with plenty to do, see and hear, including live music, family fun and games, food trucks, amusement rides, and exhibition tents featuring giveaways and contests. A popular crowd-pleaser is watching the entertainment-filled, friendly face-off of the marching bands and cheerleader squads with photo ops of the mascots from the competing bowl teams. Live music beings at 12 p.m. Cheer on SMU and FAU as the teams walk through Fan Fest. Each school’s bands and spirit squad will perform at 2:15 p.m.

Important Game Day Information

Bag Policy

FAU Stadium will be utilizing the NFL’s Handbag Policy for the 2019 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl. Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” may be permitted into FAU Stadium. Small clutch bags (approximately the size of a hand) may accompany the clear bag not exceeding the size limit. A one -gallon clear plastic freezer bag may also be used. An exception, at the discretion of security personnel, will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

The following will be permitted following screening:

  • Wristlets/clutches (with or without a strap) that fit in the palm of the hand (no larger 4.5” x 6.5”).
  • Bags for medical and/or childcare needs.
  • Bags for credentialed game day staff.

Ticketed guests with wristlets/clutches may use any lane in the screening area. Wristlets/clutches should be placed in the provided bin for inspection.

Ticketed guests entering with bags for medical and/or childcare needs may use any lane in the screening area. Bags will be searched and tagged for entry into the stadium.

Credentialed staff with bags should use the designated credential screening areas outside of Gate 6. Bags will be searched and tagged for entry into the stadium.

For the safety of all in attendance, bags/purses are not permitted to be left unattended outside of FAU Stadium. Unattended bags/purses found outside the stadium will be disposed of or dealt with in a manner deemed appropriate by stadium officials. Florida Atlantic University and FAU Athletics are not responsible for loss of any unattended items.

Prohibited Items & Re-Entry

Prohibited Items: Florida Atlantic University reserves the right to deny anyone or anything from entering the venue. The following items are prohibited from entering FAU Stadium:

  • Aerosol Cans
  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Any Noisemakers
  • Bags (clutch bags, coolers, briefcases, backpack, fanny packs, cinch bags, non-approved seat cushions, luggage, computer bags and camera bags)
  • Coolers and Drink Containers (including empty bottles)
  • Confetti/Glitter
  • Fireworks/Flares
  • Food
  • Frisbees
  • Laser Pointers
  • Motorized Vehicles, Hoverboards, Skateboards, and Bikes
  • Outside Food & Beverages (exception: medical and childcare reasons)
  • Pets (exception: service animals)
  • Poles/Sticks
  • Professional Lenses over 5” in length
  • Video Cameras
  • Weapons of any kind

 

About the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl2019 Game Moves to New Day, Time and Network

After spending five years on the Tuesday evening before Christmas and being aired on ESPN, the 2019 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl will kick off in the Florida sunshine on Saturday afternoon, December 21 at 3:30 p.m. ET at FAU Stadium and will broadcast nationally on ABC as well as on ESPN Radio and locally on ESPN 106.3 FM. The bowl game has conference tie-ins with teams from Conference USA, the American Athletic Conference and the Mid-American Athletic Conference.

As one of 41 postseason college bowl games in the country and one of 15 owned and operated by ESPN Events (a division of ESPN) the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl is the only one hosted in Palm Beach County. As a celebrated annual holiday tradition in Boca Raton and Palm Beach County that lives up to its other name, ‘Boca’s Biggest Annual Outdoor Party’, the event features all the pomp and circumstance of traditional bowl events. It is a high-energy, entertaining experience for both college football fans and non-fans alike and allows the national spotlight to shine on Boca Raton and Palm Beach County.
