Unsportsmanlike on the Sidelines: ESPN Radio’s Evan Cohen on the Boca Raton Bowl, Broadcasting and the Headlines of 2025

Hold on…because he first wants to reach back behind his New York City office desk and grab the 2014 Boca Raton Bowl game ball from the shelf. It’s a gem he’s kept from the inaugural Boca Raton Bowl game when Marshall took on Northern Illinois. For Cohen, the game ball is proudly on display as he has covered the Boca Raton Bowl in some capacity for ESPN 106.3 FM, FAU and WPTV (NBC) NewsChannel 5 throughout the game’s 11 years.
This past year, Cohen’s role magnified. Now part of the talented trio behind Unsportsmanlike with Evan, Canty and Michelle, Cohen was asked to be ESPN Radio’s sideline reporter for the Boca Raton Bowl providing coverage and commentary nationwide on Boca Raton Bowl gameday.
“It’s an amazing opportunity that I was given. By the end of it, I was exhausted. I had newfound respect for all of the iconic sideline reporters – Erin Andrews and others that do this – I was like ‘wow, this is not that easy, they’re covering BOTH teams!’” said Cohen.

“Go to the Boca Bowl – it’s a fun time, that’s my takeaway message! If you’re having an up day, celebrate it at the Boca Bowl. If you’re having a down day, get your mind out of it by realizing ‘I’m almost on the field at a college football game,’” said Cohen.
