RCBRB ALUMNI IN THE 2022 NFL DRAFT
Boca Raton, Fla. (May 4, 2022) — Four RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl alumni were selected in the 2022 NFL Draft which took place Thursday through Saturday, April 28-30. Since the conclusion of the draft, 15 more RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl alumni signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents.
Western Kentucky University linebacker DeAngelo Malone was the first picked, selected in the third round (82nd overall) by the Atlanta Falcons. Record-setting quarterback Bailey Zappe, also from WKU, was selected in the fourth round by the New England Patriots. Both are alumni of the 2021 RCBRB.
Atlanta would pick a second RCBRB alum – albeit from the 2020 bowl game – in the fifth round, taking BYU running back Tyler Allgeier with the 151st overall pick. The New Orleans Saints took Appalachian State University linebacker D’Marco Jackson in the fifth round (161st pick).
Of the 15 who signed undrafted free agent agreements, there were four each from Florida Atlantic University and Appalachian State and three from SMU.
