WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR 2017 BOCA RATON BOWL ART CONTEST
BOCA RATON, Fla. (November 17, 2017) – The winners of the third annual Boca Raton Bowl Art Contest were honored last night at the Florida Blue Retail Center in Boynton Beach.
The contest had more than 3,000 entries from schools across Palm Beach County. Sponsored by Florida Blue and South Florida Fair, the contest provided elementary and middle school students with the opportunity to learn about football and the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle.
“We’re very excited about the participation from our students for the Boca Raton Bowl Art Contest,” said K-12 Arts Education Administrator Edrick Rhodes. “The amount of entries more than doubled through the partnership we’ve established with the Boca Raton Bowl, Florida Blue and the South Florida Fair. We’re extremely excited for the future of the competition.”
In the elementary division, first place was awarded to Joseph DiMare of Palm Beach Gardens Elementary. Amiya Pansuria of Waters Edge Elementary was awarded second place. Waters Edge Elementary Catherine Zhao earned third place.
In the newly added middle school division, first place was awarded to Tyler Lobiondo of Woodlands Middle School, Omni Middle School’s Krish Maisuria received second place. Meybelyn Bauza of Palm Springs Middle School earned third place.
The first-place winner’s artwork will be recognized during the Boca Raton Bowl Game and the Head Coaches Press Conference. Joseph DiMare, Tyler Lobiondo and their families, art teachers and principals will take part in a special on-field presentation during the game. The first-place winners will also receive a $500 donation, courtesy of Florida Blue. In addition, the first, second and third place winners will receive tickets to the Boca Raton Bowl on Dec. 19, 7 p.m. at FAU Stadium as well as a South Florida Fair Mega-Saver package. The entire class of winners will receive a complementary ticket to the 2018 South Florida Fair.
