BOWL SPONSORS GIVE BACK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF SOUTH PALM BEACH COUNTY

BOCA RATON, Fla. (May 11, 2018) – In partnership with Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County, Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl partners will be getting together on Friday, May 18, to build a home for a hard-working family in need. Partners participating in the build include Northwestern Mutual, CSL Plasma, Tire Kingdom, Chick-fil-A, Coca Cola and Bolay.

Since Habit for Humanity of South Palm Beach County’s creation in 1991, the organization has empowered over 126 families in the communities of Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach to achieve their dream of owning a safe, decent and affordable home.

The home that the volunteers will be working on will be presented by Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County to the March-Allen family who have earned a zero-interest mortgage through Habitat’s Partner Program. Dreamer March and Willie Allen’s story is one of a shared commitment to give their six children the stable life and home they both hoped for as children but never experienced. Dreamer had a very difficult and fragmented childhood as both her parents suffered with serious addictions to drugs and alcohol that eventually resulted in her mother’s passing. Dreamer dedicated herself to building a better life. She spent three months in the Palm Beach Housing Authority shelter and persevered every day to see if she could qualify for housing assistance for herself and 2 children. Dreamer worked hard and eventually qualified for housing assistance and moved into a new neighborhood where she met Willie, who also had also dedicated himself to building a better life and overcoming a similar childhood. Willie also lost his mother at an early age to addiction and health complications.

Dreamer and Willie eventually married and dedicated themselves to creating a stable home for themselves and their children. They both worked hard at their jobs – Dreamer at Wal-Mart and Willie as a manager at BrandsMart – and also as loving parents and dedicated builders on Habitat for Humanity who have dedicated 500 hours of work equity building other Habitat homes and completed 100 hours of Habitat financial literacy and homeowner education classes.

The March-Allen family’s new home will be located in Boynton Beach, Fla.
